MP3&Mp4 Player FAQ |
|
|
Q:How Do I Convert My CD's And Other Downloaded Music To MP3 Format? |
 |
A: |
Before you can download music to your player, it must be converted to a recognizable format such as MP3 or WMA.
If you want to convert songs from your CDs into MP3 files, you can use ripper and encoder software. A ripper copies a song's file from the CD onto your hard disk. The encoder compresses the song into the MP3 format. You can use the CD Ripper software that came with your MP3 player or opt to use other ripping and encoding software.
You can also use Window's Media Player 10 to rip CD's. For more information, please visit Microsoft.com

1. Double-click on the green arrow in the taskbar on the bottom right corner of the window. 2. Select the USB device, and then press the [Stop] button. 3. You will get a message indicating it is now safe to remove USB device. (Remove the USB cable)

|
Q:How Can I Delete All My Files? |
 |
A: |
The easiest way to delete all of your files is by formatting the MP3 Player. Please note that once you format the MP3 Player, you cannot recover any of those files.
|
|
Q:Why Is My Player Not Formatting To Its Full Capacity? |
 |
A: |
It is formatting to its full capacity, but a certain amount of memory is allocated for firmware and file structure. Consequently, you have almost all of your player's capacity available to store your tracks, except for that part allocated to firmware and file structure.
Warning: This cannot be changed. Attempting to change the amount of memory allocated to firmware and file structure causes firmware damage which is not covered under warranty.

Q:Transferring Music From Your MP3 Player To Your Computer |
 |
A: |
Most licenses allow you to transfer your music to 2 additional computers. To back up music, you will need to make copies of both the song files and license files and transfer these to the new computer.
1. Copy and transfer song files: Copy song file(s) and transfer (via email, on CD or through a shared network) to a designated music folder on another computer
2. Back up license files: Go to the Tools menu on Windows Media Player and click on License Management. Choose the location to store the license backup files. Click the "Back Up Now" button to save all your license files to this location.
3. View license files: License files are hidden by default until you change your folder viewing options. You must show hidden license files in order to transfer them to another computer. Open the file where you placed your license backup files. Go to the Tools menu and click Folder Options. Select the View tab and click "Show hidden files and folders." Click "OK."
4. Transfer licenses to a different computer: Copy your license backup files. (Look for filenames drmv1key.bak, drmv1lic.bak, drmv2key.bak, drmv2lic.bak.) Transfer all license files (via email, on CD or through a shared network) to a designated music folder on the new computer.
5. Restore licenses: You must restore the licenses on the new computer before you can play the songs. Go to the Tools menu on Windows Media Player and click on License Management. Point to the location where you saved the license files on the new computer. Click "Restore Now" to allow Windows Media Player to access the licenses on the new computer. Open the song to play it.
